We are registered to accommodate up to twenty eight people aged 65 and over, including married couples and/or partners. Ferndale specialises in the care of people with dementia/Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Our Manager is Mr Ishwurduth Mannick, RMN, who has over 40 years experience in care and our registered provider is Ferndale Healthcare Limited.

We have 18 single and 5 double bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities. TV and telephone are available in all rooms. A passenger lift serves all three floors.

Our rooms are all individually decorated and residents are encouraged to bring their own personal possessions to create a “home from home” feel.

We keep up to date with Government guidance and making sure our residents and staff are safe is our top priority.

Yes, we are welcoming new residents to our nursing home. Please get in touch to register your interest and we can arrange a tour so you can see the home and meet our friendly staff.

Absolutely, we would love for you to have a tour of our nusring home.  Having a tour is the best way to get a real feel and understanding of the home and you can meet our friendly carers and management who can answer any questions you might have.

We do still have some restrictions in place for visitors and we require all visitors to have a negative lateral flow test before entering.  Please get in touch with us through our contact us page or call us on 01293 520368 so we discuss these with you further and arrange a visit.

Yes, we welcome and encourage friends and family to visit their loved ones.  We do ask that all visits are pre-booked which enables us to keep the volume of visitors in the home at once to a minimum and we require a negative lateral flow covid test before entering and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with government and home guidelines.

We have 18 single and 5double bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities. TV and telephone are available in all rooms. In some cases a family member may want to stay over and we can offer the facility for this, with a lift to the first floor installed.

Yes. We welcome friends and family to continue to send post, donations and gifts to residents in our care homes. Some of our residents have recently celebrated birthdays and have enjoyed receiving gifts in line with the Government guidance (gifts that can be sanitised). Click here for Government guidance

Absolutely.  All food is freshly cooked on the premises, and special needs can be catered for by the chef.

Roast dinners are a firm favourite of the residents and vegetarian alternatives are available too.

We ensure that all our residents get a nutritionally balanced diet and so we offer a varied menu throughout the day with many choices.

  • Breakfast 7.30am – 8.15am
  • Morning coffee 10.30am – 10.45am
  • Lunch 12.30 pm – 1.30pm
  • Afternoon tea 3.00pm – 3.15pm
  • Supper 5.30pm – 6.30pm
  • Evening drink 7.45pm – 8.00pm


Drinks and snacks are available as and when required and on demand.

Of course you can still use the registered GP of your loved on and we have a retained GP who visits all residents once per week and is on call should there be an urgent matter.
