“Arundel Castle is one of West Sussex’s greatest attractions with a history spanning nearly a thousand years” – Dan Snow, Historian

One of the highlights of West Sussex and overlooking the South Downs and the River Aun is Arundel Castle set in 40 acres of sumptuous grounds and gardens. Built-in 1067 the castle is the current seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and their ancestors over the last 1000 years. Some notable original aesthetics of the castle are the Medieval gatehouse, the Norman keep and the Barbican. Within the rooms of the castle is housed a rare collection of fine art – including paintings by Van Dych, Canaletto and Gainsborough. Nearby to Arundel Castle is the historic market town center of Arundel and its Gothic Cathedral built in 1869.

The historic cathedral city of Chichester offers charms to delight hidden amongst the ruins of its Roman roads.
