COVID-19 FAQ's
Ferndale Nursing home operates in line with all government guidelines for COVID. While we appreciate some of these guidelines, especially around booking visits & providing a negative lateral flow test before entering, can be frustrating these guidelines are in place to keep all residents and staff safe.

COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions
Can Ferndale provide a Covid - 19 lateral flow test kit for all visitors?
Yes we certainly can. Taking a lateral flow test takes about 10 minutes, the vast majority of our visitors take the test in their car and then present the negative test a member of staff before entering our care home.
Will the person moving into the care home need to show a negative test result for Covid - 19?
Yes. Ideally the new resident would have been tested and received a negative result before moving in. The new resident will be tested on the morning of their arrival to the care home, and we will ask them to confirm they do not show any symptoms of Covid-19.
Will the person moving into the care home have to isolate upon arrival?
New residents moving to our care homes from the community will not need to isolate if they meet certain requirements, instead they can enjoy meeting other residents and being in our communal spaces from day one. Please click here to visit the government website for more information about requirements and admissions to care homes.
Are all Ferndale Nursing home staff vaccinated against Covid-19?
Currently all staff that are working at Ferndale have been triple vaccinated.
